This week, I had the privilege to attend “A Practical Wedding Workshop” hosted by the wonderful Abby Grace Photography! I traveled up to Reston, Virginia for a day full of learning, sharing some delicious meals and chatting all things wedding photography! Abby is such an amazing person and photographer, I absolutely LOVED spending the day learning from her! She shared everything that she does on a wedding day from how she prepares, what equipment she uses for each part of the day, how she shoots the individual moments of a wedding and how she shifts her perspective to focus solely on her clients.

Listening to Abby talk about how she approaches a wedding is SO inspiring. Her main focus during a wedding day is capturing unforgettable moments for her clients, NOT getting gorgeous images to add to her portfolio. Instead of making it about herself, she makes sure to always keep her clients as her number one priority instead of getting lost in being “overly artistic” or getting “perfectly composed” shots. I think that her mindset is so wonderful and that all photographers need to think just like her. Listening to her talk about her clients just shows how unbelievably passionate she is about their love. With each of her images in the slideshow presentation, she told us little tidbits about the clients in front of the camera and it almost brought tears to her eyes each time! I left the workshop feeling SO inspired and it was the perfect reminder of WHY I love doing what I do.

At the workshop, we had the opportunity to shoot some AMAZING models!! The shoot that Abby + the vendors put together was a dream!! Enjoy some of my favorite shots and check out all of the crazy-talented vendors that helped put it together!
