Sabbath Day | Lifepoint Church

Personal

Fredericksburg-Senior-Photographer_0920

When my family and I moved to Fredericksburg 13 years ago, one of the first things we did was tried to find a church that we absolutely loved. My family has always been “picky” about where we attend church, simply because we want to LOVE where we attend and leave every day feeling uplifted, inspired and closer to God. I think we probably attended 6-7 different churches, but we never felt like we “fit in” or found a church that really spoke to us. We first attended Lifepoint Church 2 years ago, and IMMEDIATELY loved everything about it. From the greeters that welcome you at the door with a genuine smile on their face, to the one-of-a-kind workshop team that leaves you singing at the top of your lungs the rest of the day, to Pastor Daniel who brings a message each week that helps us grow, become inspired and become closer and closer to God. I absolutely LOVE my church, and I look forward to attending every Sunday morning (or Saturday night!). Last week, Pastor Daniel preached about a “Sabbath Day”, and this message spoke to me on a level that I felt like needed to be shared. I feel like all of us creatives (and hard workers in general) sometimes neglect to EVER take a break and REST from our work, and it can negatively affect our life + all of the relationships around us. So, I wanted to share Pastor Daniel’s message this week, as it helped me SO much to better understand WHY a Sabbath Day is so important.

Pastor Daniel reminded us that a Sabbath Day isn’t only for certain religions, but it is one of the 10 Commandments and it is a GIFT from God. He commands us to take one day a week simply to rest, grow and become new again every 7 days. Pastor Daniel explained that we look at the 10 Commandments as “9 commandments and 1 suggestion”, because most of us don’t regularly practice a Sabbath Day every week. If you struggle with taking a Sabbath Day or “rest day”, then I encourage you to watch this sermon! Even if you don’t struggle with it, I think this message is SO amazing and something that EVERYONE should hear!! I will link the video to the message below and would love to hear what you think! If you live in the Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania or Stafford area, I encourage you to give Lifepoint a try! I promise you won’t regret it 🙂

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work” Exodus 20:8-10a

And, today is the day that our Lifepoint Worship Team released their first ALBUM! It is seriously unbelievably amazing, and the songs will have you singing at the top of your lungs for weeks! You can purchase it on iTunes by searching “Lifepoint Victorious”!

  1. YAY! Having a church home that you LOVE is unlike anything else. It’s ironic because I blogged about mine today, too! (As part of my January Favorites!). I loveeee me some good Christian music so I will have to check out the album! Have a great day, Hope! XO
