The last four days have been a whirlwind of missing flights, sprinting through airports, laughing until I cry and filling my heart to the brim with new adventures. I had been trying for months to find a way to travel to Charleston, but plans ended up falling through again and again. When Natalie + I finally found a few open dates due to some cancelled sessions + bad weather, we JUMPED on the opportunity to catch a flight and explore! It was a spur-of-the-moment getaway, but it was exactly what my heart needed in this busy season.
Our flight into Charleston was supposed to leave late Sunday evening, but we somehow managed to miss the flight! So, instead, we got a room in DC and ordered ridiculous amounts of room service!! We flew out early Monday morning and arrived in Charleston right around 10am, got our rental car, checked into our hotel and immediately began falling head-over-heels in love with the amazing city. We walked through downtown, ate at an adorable pizza shop, explored the SC Aquarium and finished up with a romantic sweetheart session to end the first day! The next 2 days were spent at Rainbow Row, Boone’s Hall Plantation, Folly Beach, Angel Oak Park, The Market + Magnoli’s!
I have had the privilege of knowing Natalie for a few months now, but I am SO glad that we really connected over this trip!! We are both in the midst of a crazy, busy season of our lives, and it was so nice to have a break away with someone who GETS it. Someone who understands that I may have to head back to the room a little early to finish emails, and I really want to hurry up and edit my pictures because I’m just so excited to share them! She gets that I may want to go to the same ice cream shop twice in one day, and I also must stop at Krispy Kreme if the hot light is on. She also understands my love for adventure-seeking + exploring, She is insanely talented + unbelievably gorgeous, and I am so happy to call her one of my friends!!
I’m sharing some of my favorite photos from the trip today, but you can also follow along with my adventures on Instagram @hopetaylorphotography!! Next week I’ll be sharing Part 2 with some of the images that Natalie took of me throughout the week!
