Okay let me just apologize in advance…this post is going to be MASSIVE!!! As I was scrolling through all of my wedding galleries from 2016, I tried my absolute best to narrow it down to only my FAVORITE images from each wedding day. But, that still resulted in over 100 photos for this post…so hopefully you’ve got a cup of coffee in hand ready to hangout for a little while 🙂
I have already shared my Best of Seniors and Best of Engagements from 2016…but this post is the grand finale of them all. 2016 was my favorite year of weddings yet. I photographed my client’s big days from Paradise Island in the Bahamas to a private garden in Kentucky to a rooftop in North Carolina to some of my favorite venues here in Virginia (and ones I had been dreaming to photograph for years!) I worked with clients who are some of my closest friends, I was a bridesmaid AND a photographer, I worked alongside some of my favorite people in the world, I had the honor of working with incredible teams of vendors and photographed almost 20 weddings that are so near and dear to my heart.
This post includes not only some of my FAVORITE images from 2016, but it includes my favorite MOMENTS, too. My job as a wedding photographer is to photograph your day in the most beautiful, breathtaking way possible. But my most important job is to capture moments that will live on for a life time. The moments that pass seemingly too quickly in the midst of your wedding day. The ones that you don’t get to see because you are welcoming your guests or touching up your makeup before the ceremony. The moments and the tears and the laughs and the love that happen on the biggest day of your life. It is my job to capture those moments so that you can look back on them for all of the days of your life.
So, this blog post may be pretty (and I hope it is!!) but it holds so much more than that. And I hope you enjoy scrolling through all of my favorite wedding moments of 2016 as much as I did! Happy new year, friends!
One of the most emotional daddy-daughter dances I’ve photographed. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room-including mine!
Emily and Kyle’s family, friends and bridal party choreographed an AMAZING dance to one of their favorite songs and surprised them during the reception! SO fun!
Katie was walking down the aisle to meet her husband-to-be…I was crying while photographing this one, too!!
One of the best first look reactions EVER. 🙂
This moment was captured just seconds after Lynsay and Brian were announced as husband and wife. After over 10 years together, they were finally MARRIED and shared a tearful kiss while hiding away before the reception.
One of my favorite mother-daughter moments right after Talara’s mom helped her into her wedding dress. Her daughter is a BRIDE!
One of the sweetest first looks with a groom and his little girl 🙂
Katelyn descended down the spiral staircase into her dad’s arms, the first time he saw her in her wedding gown.
Even a torrential downpour during the ceremony wasn’t putting a damper on this wedding day! So much joy!!
And, last but not least, I just HAD to include this one. Lauren, you are HILARIOUS and this photo still has to be one of my favorites. She got a little too excited about siping the champagne 😉 HAHA!!
