This blog post is an EXCITING one!!! Throughout the move from Virginia to Charleston, I had to cut back on my portrait bookings until I was settled and done traveling back and forth. So, I haven’t photographed a senior session in MONTHS…until Makenzie’s shoot last week!!! And this one was a special one. Makenzie has followed my business since her sophomore year of high school, and had her heart set on me capturing her senior portraits. When she first emailed me to book her session, I was in the middle of the move…so I told her I wasn’t accepting anymore Virginia bookings and expected her to want to work with someone else instead. But, she decided to still book me and traveled from North Carolina to Charleston so that we could work together!!! I was SO honored!! And, to top it off, we booked the session on her birthday and she and her mom made the entire trip into a girl’s weekend. It was SO MUCH FUN!

Needless to say, I had been looking forward to this session for weeks. I was so excited to get to hug Makenzie in real life…and to photograph my first senior in Charleston! But whenever someone travels from out of town for their session with me, it adds a little bit of extra pressure to make the session truly AMAZING and worth their trip. So, I wanted the shoot to be PERFECT! When the day of the session finally arrived, the weather could not have been better. It was in the 60s and sunny with the BEST golden hour light!!! GAH! I just love these portraits!!

Makenzie, thank you so much for choosing me as your senior photographer! I absolutely LOVED meeting you and spending the afternoon exploring Charleston. Enjoy some of my favorites in this post!!!
