Well, we kicked off fall wedding season with a bang…because we kicked it off with Briana and Kyle’s wedding right after the HURRICANE! If you were watching the news at all last week, then you saw that Charleston got unexpectedly hit with Hurricane Ian as a Category 1. And, the storm made landfall the day BEFORE Briana and Kyle were scheduled to get married! I was holding my breath all day on Friday as we lost power and the storm pummeled through Charleston. But, somehow we woke up on the wedding day with SUNNY skies and gorgeous 75-degree temperatures!! What a miracle!! The only problem was that Briana and Kyle’s wedding venue was still without power.

Baylye and the amazing planning team had to navigate some huge hurdles while the kitchen prepped in the dark and DJ used generators to make the ceremony happen. Everyone was running around finding battery-powered candles and ways to keep the food warm with an open flame. The ceremony was outdoors…and the power kicked back on RIGHT as the ceremony was ending and guests were about to head indoors for the reception. Is that not the craziest thing you’ve ever heard!? The reception went off without a hitch, and it was a BEAUTIFUL day celebrating an even more beautiful couple!! Briana and Kyle are so clearly meant for each other, and it was such a joy to capture their fall wedding day.
