Kora’s destination senior portraits at The Flower Fields may be my new favorite senior session of all time. That is a very big claim!!!!! Let me back up a little bit.

For the first time ever, I decided to do something NEW in 2023. I opened up applications for “destination senior models” – the opportunity for 2-3 seniors to book me for an EPIC destination shoot. Once every quarter, I choose a destination and 2-3 seniors to be photographed in that epic spot. For our spring shoot, we knew we wanted to do something AMAZING with florals in California for the “super bloom”…but we weren’t sure exactly what.

I saw Kora’s application come through a few weeks after opening them up, and I KNEW she’d be the perfect fit for this! I actually already photographed her senior portraits once in Charleston…and was SO honored that she wanted to do them AGAIN in California!!! But, it meant the pressure was ON to find the perfect, epic location. I did research for WEEKS to find somewhere that would be in peak bloom while we were in town. Then I stumbled upon The Flower Fields!!!! It is a stunning farm in California that grows EPIC fields of ranunculus that bloom only a few weeks out of each year. And somehow, we timed it PERFECTLY for them to be in full bloom! I had to jump through tons of hoops to be allowed to shoot here (applications, proof of insurance, hefty permit fee, etc.)…but I was APPROVED!!!

I have dreamed of shooting in a floral field like this my entire life…and it was everything I’ve dreamed of and more! Kora was an absolute DREAM to work with (even more so the second time around!) and I had the best time exploring this stunning location with her family!

Kora, thank you for flying all the way out to California to meet us for this shoot! You are DREAMY!!!
