Senior portraits in the low-country during hurricane season can create a whole new set of challenges. Mimi and her amazing dad, Scott, had been planning to travel all the way from Alabama to Charleston for her senior portraits last week. I could already tell how amazing they were just through our email communication, so I could not WAIT to meet them! But, Helene had to throw a wrench in our plans. It rolled through Charleston and Savannah just a few days before our scheduled shoot, and we had concerns about damage. Would there be down trees in the background? Would the flowers that Mimi had her heart set on all be blown off? We debated rescheduling back and forth for days…but ultimately decided to move forward with the session and hope for the best. And I am SO glad that we did!

With some planning and a little extra creativity…we were able to create a GORGEOUS gallery for Mimi! We even found some flowers! She had such an incredible attitude despite all of the stress leading up to the session, and her dress choices were all INCREDIBLE. I had so much fun exploring Charleston with her (and, the silver lining? It was my first shoot of the season that wasn’t steaming hot!!!)
