Let me tell you a little something about Isabel’s senior portraits in Savannah…they created a CHALLENGE for me!!! I haven’t felt truly challenged by something at a senior session in a long time. I not-so-secretly loved it! Isabel had her heart set on a more rural, rustic feeling to her session – including images in a wide open field at sunset. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, turns out an open field is IMPOSSIBLE to find this time of year in Savannah! I know of all the best open fields in Fredericksburg (where I started my business years ago) and in Charleston…but Savannah? NOPE. But I was DETERMINED to find a spot that Isabel was obsessed with for her final location!

I drove around for 2 weeks (not kidding!) and tried to search high and low for a cute open field that was on public property. It was the day before Isabel’s session, and I felt like I had come up totally blank…until I ran by a gas station to grab a quick energy drink. There was an open lot behind the gas station that wasn’t being built on yet…and it had that tall, overgrown, golden grass that us photographers LOVE. Even better…it had SIDEWALKS on the perimeter…so I knew it was public property. At the risk of my senior and her mom thinking I was crazy…I sent them a video of an EnMarket gas station and told them to meet me there for the final outfit at their shoot. And YA’LL! Just wait until you see how they turned out!

I had the absolute best time exploring not one but TWO new-to-me locations in Savannah with Isabel and her mom! The country, rustic feel of her shoot turned out SO stinking cute – and I have so many favorites!

Isabel: Thank you for trusting me to capture your senior portraits! I hope you love every image as much as I do – and thanks for skipping through an open field behind a McDonald’s and EnMarket with me! Hahaha!
