Where do I start…

Yesterday, I had the privilege of being mentored by an absolutely amazing senior photographer who inspires me with everything that she does. I got to spend the afternoon with the phenomenal and beautiful Brooke Daniels Photography! We spent about three hours styling and shooting these beautiful ladies and then spent another two hours discussing business, post processing and critiquing my work. I don’t think I could have had a better time! Maddie, Kelly and Claire are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and were all phenomenal models! Brooke had them all bring a ton of their favorite sweaters, coats, hats, gloves and accessories for the session. The first thing we did upon arrival was lay EVERYTHING out on the floor of Brooke’s living room and let me tell you, these girls have awesome style! It was amazing to watch Brooke put together stunning looks in a matter of minutes, she’s so great at what she does! After putting outfits together, Brooke touched up their makeup and we headed out into the snow!

At first the cold wasn’t too bad…but as the snow started to seep into my Hunter boots it got chilly fast! Our hands were all freezing and I’m sure our toes were purple but these girls seriously ROCKED it in the cold weather and the end results are amazing! I can’t thank Brooke enough for being so sweet and teaching me so much. From posing ideas to lighting to styling to communicating with clients and post processing, she poured so much knowledge into me in such a short period of time and I am so grateful! I took my little aqua journal with me to the second half of our mentor session and I have pages upon pages of information and ideas that I cannot WAIT to put into action! I want to say one more HUGE thank you to Brooke for being so encouraging and complimentary of my work and giving me the little “push” and confidence I needed to start taking my photography to the next level. I cannot wait to have my senior photos done by her in two weeks!!!
