10 Goals for 2014

This year is going to be an AMAZING one, I can already feel it! I kicked off 2014 by having a one-on-one mentoring session with Brooke Daniels Photography, attending Katelyn James’ Workshop Experience, booking 6 second-shooting jobs for weddings and being more excited about my business than ever before! With so many amazing things planned, I wanted to share with you all 10 goals that I have for my business during the upcoming year!

BUSINESS GOALS:

#1: Start specializing in only seniors, couples and weddings.

This is something that is going to be very hard for me, because I love shooting everything! However, with that being said, seniors and couples have always been my favorite things to capture. I love being able to fully customize a senior session and make everyday high school girls feel like supermodels for the day. And I adore capturing the emotions between two people who are head-over-heels in love. I am super excited for all of the family and children sessions that I already have booked for this year, but I will no longer be booking any more.

#2: Host my very own workshop on March 8th.

This is something that I am SUPER excited about! With so many talented photographers in high school, I am thrilled to be hosting a workshop for teenagers to learn more about running their own business. Balancing school and business is always incredibly hard, but I can’t wait to share how I do it and teach these amazing girls everything that I know!

#3: Successfully second-shoot weddings throughout the year and build my wedding portfolio.

This is probably one of the most exciting, but nerve-racking things on this list! I cannot WAIT to begin shooting my own weddings, as it has always been a dream of mine, but I am also SUPER nervous! Being a wedding photographer is huge job but after attending Katelyn James’ Workshop and gaining more experience behind the camera, I feel like I can do it!

#4: Start blogging at least 4-5 times a week.

This is going to be hard for me…really hard. I LOVE blogging, it’s one of my favorite aspects of my business, but with so much going on, it’s always to hard to find the time! All I need is a little self-discipline and I believe I can do it! Stay tuned for A LOT of blogging to come 🙂

#5: Reach 2,000 likes on my Facebook page.

I’m only 8 likes shy of 1,000 and I believe that by the end of 2014, I can reach 2,000 likes! If you haven’t already, make sure you like my page HERE for frequent sneak peeks, announcements and updates regarding HTP!

#6:  Purchase the 85mm 1.2 and the 35mm 1.4 lenses.

This is just a matter of saving my money and being patient…but I can’t wait to have my hands on these babies!

#7: Decrease my turnaround time.

This will probably be the most difficult for me, but I’m going to try really hard to make this happen!

#8: Have my website custom designed by SiteHouse.

This has ALWAYS been a dream of mine! I have always designed my websites/blog all by myself but I can’t wait to have someone else design it for me…I know it will be amazing! This one has to wait until summertime…but stay tuned for an AWESOME website design to come!

#9: Be better about time management and organization.

Let’s be honest…who doesn’t struggle with this one? Time management is (and always has been) my biggest weakness. With my momma by my side, I have gotten better about it, but I still have a lot of room to improve!

Last but not least….

#10: Successfully continue my business in college.

This one is the most daunting goal on my list…as I have no idea whether or not this one will be accomplished. It makes me so nervous to think about leaving my home (and all of my clients, supporters and followers) to start all over again. However, I believe that God will lead me in the right direction and with Him by my side, I cannot fail.

So there it is! My list of goals for this year! I’m sure that I will add more as the year progresses, and I will keep you all updated as they come 🙂 What are your goals (personal or business-related) for this upcoming year? Share in the comment section below!
