So, this is not a normal one-on-one mentoring session post…it’s even better!! When Emily contacted me about a mentoring session a few months back, I was BEYOND excited! I just knew that I was going to love her from the start! We chatted for a few weeks about what we were going to focus on at her mentoring session, what type of shoot she would like to have, what her strengths and weaknesses were and where she would like to see her business go. Then, when her boyfriend Zach contacted me to do a few portraits of him + Emily together, I was jumping for joy! I absolutely LOVE photographing sweet couples, and they are absolutely precious together! But then, Zach casually mentioned that he was going to be PROPOSING!!! WHAT!? Oh my goodness, guys, I can’t even tell you how excited I was!! So, Zach and I made a quick, sneaky plan and off I went to Emily’s mentoring session!

For an hour, Emily and I chatted all about the business side of photography and had tons of time for Q+A before heading out to shoot a beautiful couple (David + Greer will be on the blog, soon!) Then, after about an hour, Zach pulled up to surprise Emily! At that point, Emily just thought that they were taking a few portraits together (which was SO sweet in and of itself!!) But little did she know…he had a ring hidden in his pocket! We took portraits for about 20 minutes, and then I had Emily turn away from Zach as if we were going to do an adorable pose…but then I had her turn back around and there he was on one knee!! It was one of the SWEETEST moments and I was so honored to be a part of it! Props to you, Zach!!
