I’ve spent the last four days in Charleston, South Carolina for the Rising Tide Society leader’s retreat + I’m not quite sure if this blog post will be able to encompass exactly what this trip meant to me. After quite a few stressful weeks of working hard, traveling, handling constant to-dos + planning some BIG dreams for the next few months, I was very overwhelmed. Small business ownership is HARD, but one of the things that business owners don’t like to talk about is how lonely this industry can be. Our typical work days are spent alone in our office for 8-10 hours a day with almost NO human interaction. When you think about it like that…it’s crazy! We spend SO much time alone pouring into our businesses that sometimes the loneliness itself can start to eat away at us. So, after quite a few weeks of LONG work days and little time to invest in relationships, a retreat with some of my absolute favorite friends + boss ladies was EXACTLY what I needed.
I rode into Charleston with Kat of Dear Sweetheart Events on Friday afternoon + we jammed to Adele + Justin Bieber the whole way there. We arrived just in time for a dinner at Magnolia’s then spent all day Saturday exploring, shopping + Insta-gramming at Rainbow Row. Saturday evening was the official start to the RTS Leader’s Retreat + I immediately knew that it was going to be absolutely amazing. The ladies + gentlemen leading Tuesday’s Together groups across the world are world-shakers + life-changers. I was so lucky to be among them over the last few days.
The remaining two days of the retreat were full of big dreams, tears, inspiration, sharing meals, big hearts, wonderful talks + lots of game-changing moments. I can’t even begin to explain the amazing ways this retreat has helped me feel ready to tackle all of the crazy projects coming in the next two months, but I am SO thankful. I want to say one GIGANTIC thank you to Natalie, Krista, Huey + Davey for putting together such an amazing experience + for curating an environment for all of the life change that happened over the weekend.
When I go on vacation or take time off, I try my absolute best to leave my camera at home and be present. SO, here are tons of my favorite iPhone pics from the trip to Charleston (aka my favorite place on the planet!!!)
Enjoy some of my favorite moments from this weekend! If you are interested in joining your local Tuesday’s Together group, just head to the website HERE + find your local group!
