I don’t even have enough words to explain how much I adore Jenny and Chris. When Jenny first inquired with me about a wedding in Wisconsin, I was so excited!!! She mentioned she was a photographer herself and had been following me for awhile…but I thought there was no WAY she’d want to have me come all that way with those expensive travel costs. I didn’t hear from her for a few days, then she emailed me and all she said was “What do I do to book you for my wedding?” WHAT!?
The pressure is always on to shoot a wedding for another photographer…but for another photographer that was flying me all the way to WISCONSIN!? I knew I had to be on my A-game. I arrived in Wisconsin with my second shooter, Andrea and we hit the ground running. I have NEVER been there before…and we had the best recommendations thanks to my friends on Instagram!!! We drove about an hour from the airport to the area where Jenny and Chris would be getting married, and then got ready to do their engagement session (the night before the wedding!)
We knew Jenny and Chris were expecting over 500 guests…so we were super eager to see the farm and how they would accommodate that many!!! Here in Virginia, 300 people is a huge wedding…and the largest I had ever photographed. I couldn’t wait to see what 500+ would look like!!! When we pulled up we were both blown away. Jenny and Chris had set up a huge white tent on their property, converted one of the buildings into a cocktail bar and had thought of every little detail. Their guests were in for a TREAT and we were in awe of their hard work!! We also both left wanting to move to Wisconsin and live on a beautiful farm like them HAHA!!
We went to bed so excited to get started the next day, and I can’t even begin to describe the JOY and celebration that went on throughout their wedding day. From the very start, everyone was just giddy with excitement for these two. Their timeline was a photographer’s DREAM with over two hours of portrait time throughout the day (!!!) and traveling to multiple gorgeous locations near the farm. We got to photograph a puppy with a floral necklace, COWS at golden hour and a full-fledge country concert of a reception. I don’t think it gets any better than this!!!
Jenny and Chris, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to capture your wedding day. It was truly such an honor, and I hope that our paths cross again someday soon! Enjoy all of my favorites – I still wish I was moving in with you in Wisconsin! Hahaha!!
This floral palette made my fall-loving heart melt!!! It was also in the mid-60s ALL DAY. Dream. Dream. Dream.
RUE!!! This pup was the star of the show during portrait time…just you wait!
The sweetest reaction to seeing his bride!!
MARRIED, ya’ll!!! PS: people in Wisconsin don’t say ya’ll…
First portrait location!!! Gotta love this light!!
FAVE!!!
The bride’s dad carried this vintage bench all the way to where we were shooting these!!!
Reception time!!!
Jenny and Chris met at the fair where Jenny was “Fairest of the Fair” and Chris wanted to participate in the cream puff eating contest. SO, naturally…they reenacted the cream puff eating contest at the wedding!!
HILARIOUS!!!
Golden hour portraits…I just can’t even handle these.
Favorite!!! So much joy!!!
SUCH a fun reception!!!
A huge thank you to the incredible creative team who made this day happen:

The Reichert family are great people. I wasn’t at the wedding but your pictures make me feel like I was. I’ve known this family since the kids wee little. I taught them in Sunday school and Confirmation. Overall amazing family. You did a beautiful job of capturing that. Congratulations to all the Reicherts on your growing family!!
And yes, Wisconsin weddings are completely different from the South. You don’t understand until you experience it.
