One year from TODAY we will become husband and wife…so I thought it was the perfect time for this post 🙂 I am finally sharing our ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS!!! What a surreal sentence to type. I’ve dreamed of working with Lauren Fair for years and years…and I’m still not quite sure it has sunk in that she is our WEDDING photographer…or that I’m getting married at all!! Haha! I have been anticipating this shoot for so long, and it was truly everything I could have dreamed of and more. We knew we wanted our engagement photos to feel true to US, to highlight what our real life and new home…and to highlight the Southern beauty in Savannah.
You would think that after almost 10 years in the photography industry, finding outfits would have been easy for us…NOPE. It was the HARDEST part of the planning process so far!!! I ended up buying so many options because I just couldn’t decide…but I think we ended up choosing perfectly. We decided to do the first set of photos in our new home to highlight this season of our life (even though the house is far from done!), and to capture some portraits at our wedding venue (it has the dreamiest Spanish moss!) Working with Lauren was a dream from start to finish!
I will always remember this day as one of my favorite memories with Hayden so far. We had such a fun day running around preparing for our pictures, having cocktails while we got ready and then a fancy steak dinner out together afterwards. He is truly my best friend and the absolute love of my life…and these pictures capture our love so perfectly.
Now, a little over a month since our session, some of the most special images are the ones of our sweet Lily bean. Lily was Hayden’s cat of 12 years, and I had fallen in love with her over our last two years together. During our engagement session, she was being impossible to photograph, but Lauren made a point to capture 2 images of her when we weren’t even looking. Last week, we had to put Lily down because she got unexpectedly sick…and it was the most heartbreaking thing either of us have ever experienced. The photos we have of her from this session are already hanging on our walls, and it is such a huge reminder of just how special the work we do as photographers can be. We are so thankful.
Lauren, thank you for capturing us so genuinely and joyfully. I will be looking back on these photos for decades to come, and you made all of our dreams come true. We can’t wait for the WEDDING!!!

This is one of my favorites from the whole shoot…I’m marrying up.
We can just be honest here: Boone was the star of the show.
These are SO special to us!!! Some of our first weeks in this home!
