So, I was on vacation in South Carolina last week. My family and I had two adjoining hotel rooms, and I had just hopped out of the shower in my hotel room. I was walking around with a towel on my head (I’m pretty sure I was still half-dressed) when my mom called me into her room. It was something like “OH MY GOSH HOPE GET IN HERE NOW!”
I walked into the room with a very irritated “what do you need?” attitude…until she yelled “JASMINE’S COMING TO DC!” (For those of you who don’t know who Jasmine is {I’m not sure why I would expect you to} we are talking about THE Jasmine Star. She is an absolutely amazing photographer and someone I have ALWAYS looked up to. She photographed Katelyn James’ wedding…that’s how you know she’s a pretty big deal.) Anyways, I dropped everything (I’m pretty sure it was more of a throw) and ran to the computer. Sure enough, Jasmine had just announced that she was hosting a workshop in DC!!! I was jumping up and down with excitement, I didn’t even think twice before purchasing a ticket, I filled out the form faster than my hands could type. I had been saving up for an 85mm 1.2 lens…but when we’re talking Jasmine Star, there is just no doubt about it, I’m goin’.
A few hours after receiving my conformation email, Jasmine posted that the DC workshop had SOLD OUT! Whaaaaaat?! I am SOOOO blessed and excited to say that I AM GOING!! WOOOHOOOO!
Jasmine is seriously phenomenal and someone who has inspired me TREMENDOUSLY. I purchased her “Second Shooter Handbook” and her personal magazine called “Exposed” that outlines her successes, failures and journey to being the photographer that she is today. After reading those…I was hooked. I read her Facebook daily, creep on every blog post and obsess over all of her gorgeous images. I can’t wait to attend her workshop in June and learn all about branding, post-processing, workflow, finding my style and more! YAY!
How exciting for you! I wish I could have afforded a spot in her Chicago class (it’s about five hours from us) but the new motherhood and new business budget don’t allow it 😛 Can’t wait to hear about your experience!
Cannot WAIT to meet you in person soon!!! 🙂
