This past weekend, I had the opportunity to host my second-ever HTP workshop in my home. Six amazing girls from three different states drove to Fredericksburg to join me for a day full of learning, making new friends, shooting, sharing a meal, head shots and growing their businesses! Hosting workshops and teaching are two of my favorite aspects of being a photographer. I absolutely love watching these amazing business owners take what they have learned, apply it to their businesses and follow their dreams! Let me tell you guys…this workshop was FULL of amazing, growing photographers who are going to rock it out in the industry! This HTP workshop was one for the books! From the phenomenal sponsors, the delicious meal, the amazing attendees, the surprise giveaway, the stunning shoot and more…this is a workshop I will never forget!
In the HTP “Business Basics” workshops, I cover everything that you need to know about kick-starting a photography business and give you all of the tools to make your dream a reality! We discuss marketing, branding, how to utilize social media, pricing, workflow, organization, editing, client interaction, posing, lighting and more! Each attendee receives a complimentary notebook (as well as some other delicious favors!) and brand new head shots! We then share a delicious meal together before starting the fully styled shoot (this workshop’s theme was The Notebook-swoon!) and each attendee leaves with stunning images to add to their portfolio. I am an open book during these workshops-and the attendees know that they are free to ask me anything they would like!
I want to say a HUGE thank you to our absolutely phenomenal sponsors who donated their time, effort and amazing products to this HTP Workshop:
The Popcorn Bag: If you haven’t headed over to The Popcorn Bag yet…you are seriously missing out! DELICIOUS!
Sweet Reasons: Uhm…yum! Everything from cupcakes to cookies to truffles to cheesecake…Sweet Reasons has always been a favorite!
Virginia Outdoor Center: The VA Outdoor Center has been one of my favorite places to go since I was a kid! Tubing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing…they have it all!
Allison Barlow: This woman is A-MAZING! I have been wanting to work with Allison for MONTHS now and the makeup that she did for the styled shoot was flawless!
Bobbypins & Blush: I was honored to have Teddi from BP&B as the hair stylist for our styled shoot! Teddi & her team of hair & makeup artists never fail to amaze me!
Check out some of the behind the scenes shots from the July workshop below! There may be some talk about the possibility of a February HTP workshop (ahhh!)…if you would like more information on this, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will keep you posted with details as they unravel!
Seriously…how gorgeous are these girls!? Taylor, Erica, Madi, Ashlee, Sierra and Savannah…it was an honor to have you!
