If you live in Virginia (or anywhere on the East Coast…) then you know ALL about the crazy wind storms we had last week. Initially, those storms were supposed to roll in on Thursday evening…the night we had scheduled for Stephanie and Jason’s engagement session. Washington D.C. was under a high wind and storm warning, so we went back and forth for HOURS on whether to not we should move forward with the shoot. Ultimately, we decided that the weather looked like it would hold off just long enough…and IT DID!!! It was grey and rainy…but NO WIND for the entire shoot! The rain started to pick up right as we were finishing…it was such a blessing!

Stephanie and Jason wanted to photograph their engagement photos at the Library of Congress in the heart of D.C. and I was SO excited. I had never photographed there before, so I will THRILLED to explore a new location! We photographed both inside and outside the Library…and almost got arrested for photographing on the balcony out front. Like…no joke. There were doors that lead out to a pretty balcony so we tried to open one…and it opened right up! Not even two minutes later, a guard came out screaming at us that we could go to jail…OOPS!! But worth it!! The guards spent the rest of their time inside  watching us like hawks and roping off all of the doors. Now we know!

I had SO much fun spending the afternoon with these two and cannot wait for their wedding day later this year! Enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session in Washington D.C.!
