This engagement session is special for SO many reasons!!! One being that it kicks off my “busy” season of normalcy after so long in quarantine…and two because Ellen was one of my absolute best friends in high school!! I met Ellen when I was a 14 year old freshman. I don’t even remember what class we met in…but I remember we had Spanish together at one point and always spent the entire class dying laughing. Ellen was dating Brandon when I knew her all the way back as a freshman…which means they’ve been together almost 10 YEARS! I have always known their relationship to be so mature and loving (even in our teens!) and these two are truly best friends. When they reached out to me and wanted me to photograph their wedding it was truly SUCH a special honor!

Ellen and Brandon were SO flexible with me when it came to scheduling their engagement session date. There were so many variables with COVID-19 that made it a little tricky…but they were so patient. We finally found a date that worked and they drove down to Charleston all the way from my old stomping grounds in Fredericksburg, VA! I still can’t BELIEVE the weather we had…the heat index has been 100+ for a couple weeks now, but we had a balmy evening of only mid-80s!!! SUCH a blessing (and so worth the wait, if you ask me!!)

I have so many favorites from photographing Ellen + Brandon on the Battery and at one of my favorite parks downtown. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
