This is a funny week on the blog because I shot SO much last week that things are being shared out of order!! I always blog weddings on Wednesdays, so I actually shared Kat and Carter’s wedding on the blog YESTERDAY (see it HERE!). But, we shot their engagement session in the same weekend – so it’s going up the same week!!! Kat and Carter didn’t have time to travel to Charleston for their engagement session before the wedding, but they still wanted to utilize it to practice with me before the big day. I can’t emphasize how valuable it is to work with your photographer before your wedding – even if it’s only the day before! It helps you get comfortable working together, gets you used to the poses and makes the portraits on the wedding day move SO much faster. I was more than happy to travel to VA beach a day early to make their engagement portraits happen!

We spent the evening exploring some of the gorgeous locations we would be photographing on their wedding day, and out running some serious thunderstorms! As you continue to scroll you’ll see the clouds getting a little darker…and it was actually LIGHTNING in the background of some of the last pictures!! We finished just in time as the sky opened up and the images we got were GORGEOUS because of it! Enjoy some of my faves!!

I LOVE when my couples bring their pup to their engagement shoot! It’s always so fun!!!
