Ya’ll…HOW DID I LET THIS HAPPEN!? I started blogging our wedding weekend back in July…and then NEVER GOT TO THE ACTUAL WEDDING! Life got ahold of me and my to-do list kept building on itself…and now we’re at the end of September. Goodness gracious. I am deeming the next month WEDDING MONTH on the blog and am determined to share every element of our day with you. And it’s almost going to be MORE fun to re-live it now that it has been over 4 months since our big day on May 6th, 2023!
I have already blogged the other events from our wedding weekend: our Thursday Night Tacos, Rehearsal and Welcome Party. Today officially kicks off the posts from our actual WEDDING DAY!!! I am going to be sharing a post dedicated to each element of our wedding, starting with the DETAILS!
You would think that after 10 years of working in the wedding industry…choosing my details would have been easy on me. NOPE. I had the HARDEST time narrowing down the aesthetic that I wanted for our wedding day…not to mention all of the individual details. It was so hard for me!!! I think I changed my mind a million times, but I am SO happy with how everything came together. I really wanted each element of our wedding day to feel personal to us and aesthetically cohesive…and I’m so excited to highlight some of my favorite elements in this post!
Invitation Suite: Our invitation suite was designed by the absolutely AMAZING Empress Stationery. I don’t even know where to BEGIN with raving about my experience with them! We worked with their team for both our save the dates and invitations, and they blew us away. They make the process of designing and customizing your suite SO easy, while also feeling super personal and streamlined. And they aren’t paying me to say that!!! I truly just love them! Our suite included a custom watercolor portrait of our pup, Boone and another custom watercolor of our venue entrance. This is forever one of my favorite design elements from our big day!
Shoes: I am not even going to lie to ya’ll…I went through 4 different shoe orders before finding the right pair with my dress. HAHA! My dress was SUPER busy, so I knew I needed a simple shoe…and nothing looked right that I tried. I landed on a super classic white pair of Badgley Mischka’s with a touch of sparkle and they ended up being perfect!
Jewelry: Again with the busy dress…finding the right jewelry was SO HARD! I knew I didn’t need a necklace, but was super stuck on earrings for the longest time. Enter: SJ Bailey to the rescue!!!! I have ordered her earrings for YEARS and was thrilled when she was available to make a custom pair for our wedding. The super simple (but stunning!) drop pearl ended up being the absolute perfect touch.
Dress: The dress of my absolute dreams. It took me a few bridal appointments and stores to find the right dress. I ended up going on a super secret mission to a trunk show with my mom and sister in Winter of 2021 when I saw they had this specific Berta dress in tow…and instantly fell in love. I have a video trying it on for the first time and my jaw was WIDE open. It felt like ME in dress form!!! The 3D florals and fun bow detail made all my dreams come true. I already have it preserved and will never ever let her go!!!
Rings: Hayden did the most incredible job designing my engagement ring with Heidi Gibson, so I knew I only wanted a simple band to let the engagement ring shine. We ended up ordering our bands online from Olive Ave and we both absolutely love them! I opted for small round stones, and he went with traditional gold.
Pajamas: These don’t necessarily count as a detail…but I love them too much to not include! I gifted all of my bridesmaids a pair of silk pajamas from Bon Viviann and the girls LOVED them!! They were so, so comfy and they photographed beautifully. I got a pair for myself too, hehe!!!
Perfume: I opted to use my daily perfume as my wedding perfume instead of getting a special scent…I just wanted to feel like myself! I wear the Replica brand “Under the Lemon Trees” scent and I’m not sure if I’ll ever change it. I absolutely LOVE it!
Hayden’s details: My favorite part of Hayden’s details was his watch. He was gifted his land granddaddy’s watch the night before our wedding (at our welcome party) and it is so, so special to him. I knew that surprise was coming, and am so grateful that he got to wear it during the most special day of our lives!
Each of our wedding posts is going to include a shoutout to our amazing vendor team, because I cannot thank them enough for all of the hard work they put into every single detail. Our day would not have been possible without:
