I have been holding these photos hostage for MONTHS!!! I blogged Lillie Blakelyn and Cameron’s gorgeous New Year’s Eve wedding yesterday…which means I FINALLY get to share her bridal portraits from last fall! If you aren’t familiar with the tradition of bridal portraits, it is one of my FAVORITES. It is a very Southern tradition where the bride gets ready in her entire bridal look (typically also trialing her hair and makeup) to have a full session of just bridal portraits taken. Then, typically, the portraits are displayed in large prints at the wedding reception. It is a blast for so many reasons (including having WAY more bridals than you normally would get on your wedding day)…but this shoot was extra special!

Lillie Blakelyn initially dreamed of getting married at one of my favorite Charleston venues: Lowndes Grove. Unfortunately, the venue couldn’t accomodate her guest list (over 600!!!) – so she shifted gears and hosted her wedding at a private family farm instead. But, that didn’t mean she couldn’t have portraits taken at her dream venue!!! We photographed all over the gorgeous Lowndes Grove property, including inside the iconic bridal suites and spiral staircase. Then, as if it wasn’t already stunning enough, we headed to Hotel Bennett for a second set of portraits in the famous St. Matthews Chapel suite. There are some images in this post that I’d consider my favorites I’ve EVER taken!!! Lillie Blakelyn is a drop-dead stunning bride…and I could have truly photographed her all day long.
