CloudSpot vs. HoneyBook: Which CRM Is Right for Photographers?

Senior Sessions

One of the BEST things you can do for your photography business during the off-season is simplify your systems and set yourself up for a smoother, more professional year ahead! In today’s video, I’m breaking down my two favorite CRM platforms for photographers – CloudSpot Studio and HoneyBook – and helping you decide which one is right for your season of business.

Over the years, I’ve used both platforms extensively, and I get asked all the time:
Which one do you recommend? Why do you use both? What’s the difference?

The truth is both are incredible, but they serve different needs.

Why I Love CloudSpot Studio

CloudSpot has always been my go-to for gallery delivery. Their galleries are beautiful, easy to use, and client-friendly. With the introduction of CloudSpot Studio, photographers can now manage galleries, contracts, invoices, and basic workflows all in one place.

I especially recommend CloudSpot Studio for photographers in their first 1–3 years of business. It’s simple, affordable, and removes so much of the overwhelm that comes with setting up systems for the first time – all while dramatically upgrading your client experience.

However, it doesn’t offer many automation or email features, or much customization.

Why HoneyBook Might Be the Better Fit

HoneyBook is a powerful, robust CRM built for business owners who want advanced automations, integrations, and long-term scalability. If you’re running a higher-volume business, managing multiple offers, or wanting more hands-off workflows, HoneyBook offers incredible flexibility.

That said, it can feel overwhelming if you’re brand new, and many photographers don’t need all of its features early on.

The Bottom Line

If you’re early in your photography journey and want something simple and cost-effective, CloudSpot Studio is an amazing place to start.

If you’re further along and want deeper automation and business tools, HoneyBook may be worth the investment.

The off-season truly is the perfect time to simplify your systems, level up your client experience, and set yourself up for a smoother year ahead. If that’s what you’re aiming for, I take an even deeper dive in the YouTube video below!
