This session may not technically be a senior session…but it was SUCH an honor to photograph!!! Lindsay is currently serving as Miss Charleston and is gearing up to compete for Miss South Carolina this month. When she reached out and asked me to capture some quintessential Charleston images for her to share leading up to competition, I was so incredibly honored. Getting chosen to photograph Miss Charleston in the city she represents!? SUCH a joy!!!

We wanted this shoot to feel classic, colorful and so Charleston…and I think we accomplished exactly that! We worked with The Pink Figgy, which added the cutest pop of personality, and Lindsay brought the most EPIC outfits to pair with her beautiful Miss Charleston tiara. Every look felt polished, elevated and pageant-perfect, but still so fun and full of personality. Between the Charleston backdrops, the pink car, her stunning wardrobe and that gorgeous crown, this session was such a dream to photograph.

We also filmed this entire session for The Senior Scoop, and I treated it like a live tutorial from start to finish. I walked through every decision I was making in real time and explained WHY I was making it: from camera settings and lighting to location choices, posing, composition and more. Even though this was technically a pageant portrait session, so many of the same tools and strategies apply to creating elevated, personality-filled portraits for seniors. It was such a fun one to teach through!
