Abbey and Sam’s engagement session was originally scheduled to be in Richmond a few weeks ago. The forecast kept changing between rain and clouds…so we decided we were going to go for it and embrace it even if it rained! I was packed up with rain boots and umbrellas when I checked the radar one more time. The forecast had changed to 100% chance of SEVERE storms…with giant red blobs on the radar heading straight for our shooting location. The WORST!!! Friends in the area were posing Instagram stories of tornado-like wind and hail…so we decided it would be best to go ahead and move to another day!

When Monday rolled around the weather was PERFECT. The temperature was in the 80s and the light was stunning…I was so thankful we decided to switch dates!! It was my first time at Upper Shirley Vineyards (the venue for their wedding later this year!) and it was STUNNING. So many gorgeous spots to shoot and this beautiful couple made it so easy!! Abbey chose the CUTEST outfits (that I seriously wish I owned) and we had so much fun!
