Charleston Girls Trip with Caroline and Erika 48 Hour Guide to Charleston, SC

Personal

Last weekend was just THE BEST. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that two of my best friends from Virginia drove to Charleston for a fall girls getaway! We planned this trip weeks ago and it felt like it took FOREVER for it to finally be here. After months and months of traveling for weddings, I was SO ready for a weekend in my new home with my favorite people. Erika and Caroline arrived into town Friday night, and they left on Sunday around noon – which meant we had less than 48 hours to explore Charleston! Caroline had NEVER been to Charleston before…so I wanted to jam-pack the weekend with the best food, activities and touristy spots for her to see!

I wanted to type a recap blog post of this trip because 1. I love being able to look back on these posts and see the memories all over again and 2. I wanted to share the itinerary of exactly what we did so that anyone traveling to Charleston has an idea of some of my favorite spots! My family and I actually live out in Mount Pleasant, but we decided to stay in downtown Charleston at The Dewberry to maximize our time, be right in the heart of downtown, and treat ourselves a little bit 🙂 Here’s what our weekend looked like:

FRIDAY:

Caroline and Erika met me at my house in Mount Pleasant because they wanted to see my new home! We also all piled into one car to save on valet/parking! We headed to check in at The Dewberry and got ready together while drinking champagne – SO fun!!!

Dinner and drinks: Felix (order the Formage Fort for an appetizer, burger for dinner and do “Dealer’s Choice” for your drink!)

Going out on the town: We went to Uptown Social, The Dispensary and a few other local bars for drinks and dancing this night! But, we decided on an early night so we could jam-pack our Saturday!

SATURDAY:

We had an alarm set for 8am sharp and spent the morning getting ready wearing our robes from The Dewberry (we requested an extra when we checked in so we all had one, haha!!)

Breakfast: Miller’s All Day (I had never been here but had heard WONDERFUL things, and it’s truly amazing!!! Order a biscuit flight as a starter, and any of the entrees are amazing – we loved the shrimp and grits and the cinnamon roll!)

Explore: we did A LOT of walking this day, and it was so worth it! From Miller’s All Day we took an easy walk down to Rainbow Row and the Battery. We took TONS of fun pictures and made sure to stop at the Pineapple Fountain! From there, we walked up through the market and King Street – exploring tons of boutiques on the way! Be sure to stop at The Skinny Dip for shopping and rooftop Rose, Two Cumberland for the CUTEST clothes, The Shops at Charleston Place to window shop the fancy designers and Maris DeHart (it was my first time here and I got two amazing pieces!)

Lunch: We made a quick pit stop at Monza for brick oven pizza to finish off our shopping day! From there, we headed back to the hotel to edit pictures, freshen up and rest before our night on the town! We had a 9:15pm dinner reservation, so we did a late lunch around 3:30pm and it worked great! I use the Open Table app for all of my reservations here in Charleston!

Dinner: We had dinner at O-Ku, my FAVE Charleston sushi spot, before heading out for a night dancing on the town! The Tuna Tataki roll (in soy paper instead of seaweed) and the Potato Roll are my FAVES! The vibe and branding of this place are also amazing for a nighttime dinner!

We went back out to the same set of bars on Saturday night, but we made a pit stop on the way home for “street meat” – it sounds SO gross, but there are food vendors that line the main King street of Charleston until early morning hours and it’s the BEST food when you’ve been out drinking and dancing! It’s like Greek street food – I always get chicken and rice 🙂

SUNDAY:

Our last day – so bittersweet! We had originally planned to do Poogan’s Porch for brunch, but accidentally messed up the reservation – so we ended up scrambling for a brunch option. Charleston brunch on Sundays is ALWAYS busy, so a reservation in advance is a must! But, we ended up finding an opening at Felix (for the second time on our trip!) and we were all blown away by the delicious brunch option! I had only ever been for dinner, and will TOTALLY be going back for brunch!

Our final stop was a MUST while in the South – Jeni’s Ice Cream! They currently have holiday flavors (white chocolate peppermint is a DREAMMM), but my usual go-to is Gooey Butter Cake (it’s even gluten free!)

Okay, now time for PHOTOOOSS!! I always leave my camera away for the majority of trips like these and capture all of the memories on my iPhone. But, we did get some pictures on Rainbow Row and I can’t wait for you to see!!!

There wasn’t a full body mirror in our room…so we resorted to standing on the bed for all of our selfies HAHA! This was before getting ready for a night out…

After!!! Time to party!!!

Felix is seriously the BESTTTT. When you do a “Dealer’s Choice” cocktail, they ask your favorite liquor and flavor palettes – and make you a custom drink! All of ours were so different but so good!!

My all-time favorite burger!!! We all got the exact same thing!!

DAY TWO! Exhausted but needed a pic in our robes, haha!!

Breakfast time!! This was the biscuit flight and cinnamon roll!!

My cute dates!!

Walking Rainbow Row for pics!!!

A handful of my fave “professional” pics from the weekend!!!

Erika is an HTP senior for LIFE…I always end up posing her like one of my seniors HAHA!

Caroline was one of my brides in August so this was my THIRD time photographing this babe and she was GLOWING!!!

We totally put the camera on self timer and set it on a stranger’s car…

Personality pic.

LOVE THESE GIRLS!

After a full day of shopping we headed back to the hotel to freshen up…

Night number two on the town!!!

Our LAST DAY!! SO sad!!!

Loved our stay here!!!

Ya’ll. SO GOOD!!!!

Mimosa flight on the right!!!

I literally can’t come here and NOT order the burger.

I LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!
