I am typing this on my first official day back at work after a long holiday break…and it feels amazing!!! I’m so happy to be back! At the end of each year, one of my favorite things to do is go back through EVERY single gallery from the year and select my favorite images. I’ve done it for the last few years (You can see other best of portraits at the end of this post!) This takes HOURS…we are talking multiple tens of THOUSANDS of pictures. But it’s so fun and so rewarding! 2020 will be my 7th year as a full time photographer, which means I have spent A LOT of time behind a camera. Sometimes I start to believe that my work looks redundant or that I’m not good at being as creative as I used to be, etc. Crazy how we tell ourselves those lies, right?!

Going back through my work each year reminds me of two things: 1. I still love my work as much as I used to and 2. the reality is, as long as I am capturing valuable memories for my amazing clients, that is truly ALL that matters. I am so eternally grateful for every single couple, family and senior who trusts me to capture precious memories for them. It was a CRAZY year with portraits photographed all over Virginia AND Charleston (because I moved halfway through!!!) and I hope you love scrolling through some of my favorites!!! Instead of doing separate posts for seniors and engagement this year…I decided to do it ALL in one!!! I even photographed a few families and maternity for close friends this year…so you’ll see quite a few things mixed in!!!
