This blog post is a special one!! Each year, I spend HOURS curating every single image I took that year to find the best of the best. I spent weeks going through thousands and thousands of images to find my absolute favorites…and I’m so excited for you to scroll through! Typically, I do a separate blog post for weddings and portraits…but I didn’t get to shoot near as much in 2020 for obvious reasons. I think we’ve all heard enough about how 2020 was a complete hot mess express…so I’m not going to use this blog post for that. Instead, I’m going to use it to CELEBRATE the good stuff!
2020 was my first full year living in Charleston. It’s the year I shot my FIRST wedding in the low-country, and photographed way more clients right here in CHS than ever before. Some of my all-time favorite images were taken this year, and the majority of my work is full of Spanish Moss, Charleston churches, Southern architecture and JOYFUL clients. I absolutely love spending time each year going through my favorite work. I’ve never really considered myself an “artist”…I’ve always thought of myself as someone with a love for BUSINESS and a love for photography on the side. But, curating these blog posts help me to appreciate the work I’ve created, the growth in my images and to analyze WHY these images are my favorite…and how I can create more work just like it.
This post contains over 100 images from weddings, senior sessions, engagements, proposals, maternity and more! The margin in my shooting schedule this year allowed me to take on work that I don’t normally have time to do (like maternity portraits for sweet friends) and allow me to get creative with new locations and clients. I hope you enjoy scrolling through this post as much as I do! Thank you for following along in 2020…I can’t wait to see what we create in 2021!
Kicked off the year photographing my sister at the beginning of quarantine! I quarantined with my family, so she was the only subject I could use for MONTHS!
I had the chance to travel quite a bit once quarantine restrictions were lifted. This engagement session was in Beaufort, NC! This whole shoot was a highlight for me!!
Before COVID (in January), I led a styled shoot in Nashville at the Born to Shine Conference…and it was GORGEOUS!
My first ever Charleston wedding at the gorgeous Gadsden House!
The only proposal I photographed in 2020 (it’s not normally I service I offer)…but I LOVED it!!
My 2nd of 4 weddings in 2020 in Virginia Beach!
This was taken while filming for my BIGGEST course ever: The Senior Business Course!
My first wedding of 2020 in Maryland!!! This day was almost 120 degree heat index and we (of course) wore masks the whole day…whew! Still some of my fave images from the year!
Head shots for two amazing ladies based in NC! Branding images are another service I was able to offer WAY more of in 2020!
This was my first shoot back after quarantine this summer! I asked two sweet friends to model for me and we had the quietest downtown Charleston streets I’ve ever seen.
