For the first time in my entire business, I photographed THREE senior sessions in the same day!!! And this one was extra special for so many reasons. McCall, Kaitlyn and Karlee have known each other their entire lives (their moms were best friends before they were ever even pregnant) and they wanted to celebrate their senior year with an epic girls trip…and epic senior portraits to match! They traveled all the way from Kentucky to Charleston to have their senior portraits taken, and we got to capture not only individual portraits of each girl…but also photos of the twins together and images of all three of them that celebrated their friendship since childhood.

It was almost a five-hour shooting day, and we covered SO much ground. We explored downtown Charleston, chased pastel buildings, found the prettiest florals in bloom and ended at Hampton Park with the kind of golden light that makes you forget how tired your feet are by the end of a long shoot (!!!) All three girls had similar styles, which made the entire gallery feel cohesive and beautiful, while still giving each of them their own individual senior experience. They wanted color, sunshine, florals and all the classic Charleston charm…and I feel like we packed as much of that into one day as we possibly could!

This shoot was such an exciting one for me because it was something I had truly never done before. Photographing three seniors in one day meant there were a LOT of moving pieces: multiple outfits, individual portraits, group combinations, twin photos, location changes, lighting shifts and making sure each girl felt celebrated on her own. But I honestly love shoots that force me to think outside of the box and work quickly! It stretched me in the best way, and it was such a fun creative challenge to pace the session in a way that felt smooth, fun and intentional for everyone involved.

I also loved how meaningful this session was beyond just the photos. These girls have grown up together, their moms have shared so much life together, and now they are stepping into this next season at the same time. Getting to document that kind of friendship and history in a city as beautiful as Charleston felt like such an honor. As a Charleston senior photographer, these are the kinds of sessions that remind me why I love this job so much: every senior has a story, and sometimes that story is even sweeter when it is shared!

Girls: Thank you so much for traveling all the way to Charleston and trusting me to capture such a special milestone for all three of you!
