Averie’s senior session in downtown Charleston was such a pretty one!!! She and her family traveled in from Georgia for her portraits, and her vision was full of two of my favorite things to photograph: pink and flowers. So, naturally, Charleston was the perfect backdrop for her session!

We started at The Mills House Hotel, which gave us the most beautiful pop of pink right away. I love that iconic pink exterior so much, and it felt like the perfect way to begin a session that was centered around feminine colors, florals and all of the charm downtown Charleston has to offer. From there, we explored some of my favorite side streets and found so many pretty little corners as we walked together.

One of my favorite parts of Averie’s gallery was the variety we were able to create while still keeping everything soft and cohesive. We photographed with the gorgeous church and skyline in the background, wandered through downtown, found colorful spots that matched her outfits beautifully and then ended at Hampton Park surrounded by flowers. It felt like we got such a fun mix of classic Charleston architecture, hidden-gem side streets and the floral-filled park images she was hoping for!

Hampton Park was showing off for her at the end of the session, and I loved how the flowers tied the entire gallery together. Between The Mills House, the downtown views, the pink details and all of the blooms, this session felt so true to Averie’s vision from start to finish.
