Maisy Grace and her family flew all the way from Iowa for her senior session…talk about HONORED!!! I will never get over how special it is when families travel such a long distance to work with me, and this one felt extra sweet because her entire family came along to explore Charleston. We were also able to add some family portraits onto the session, which made the whole experience even more meaningful.

This was one of those shoots where everything just kept getting better and better. Maisy had the BEST variety of outfit styles, colors and textures, and each look photographed so beautifully against the Charleston backdrops. I love when a senior’s wardrobe gives us lots of different directions to play with…and Maisy’s outfits did exactly that! Every location felt like it brought out something new in her style.

Charleston also gave us some of its best light, weather and florals for this session. It was truly one of those evenings where I just kept saying, “you’ve gotta be kidding,” with every single shot. The flowers were beautiful, the light was glowing, the weather was perfect and Maisy looked amazing in every shot. It felt like the kind of shoot where all the pieces came together in the dreamiest way.

I especially loved that this session felt like a full Charleston experience for their family: exploring the city, capturing Maisy’s senior portraits and documenting a few family moments while everyone was together. Between the travel, the outfits, the florals, the light and all of the sweet family energy, this gallery is full of so many favorites.
