Lia’s senior session in downtown Charleston was such a fun one because we got to photograph in a few spots I had never used before!!! And that is honestly one of my favorite parts of shooting in Charleston. Even after photographing here so many times, there are always new little corners, blooming flowers, pretty gates and colorful backdrops to discover. I love walking through the streets with my seniors, exploring together and finding beautiful spots on the fly that fit their session perfectly.

Lia and her mom traveled all the way from Pennsylvania for her senior portraits, which is always SUCH an honor. I never take it lightly when families make a big trip to work with me, and these two were the absolute sweetest from start to finish! We spent the first part of her session exploring downtown, chasing florals in bloom and finding new little pockets of Charleston magic as we went. It made the whole shoot feel relaxed, personal and so much fun.

Lia also rented The Pink Figgy, and we even photographed the car in a brand new spot!!! I love when a familiar prop can feel completely fresh just because of where we place it, how we style it and how it fits the senior’s vision. The Pink Figgy is always adorable, but using it somewhere new made this portion of Lia’s gallery feel extra fun and unique.

We ended the evening at Hampton Park right at sunset, and the flowers were showing off for her!!! The hydrangeas and other florals were in bloom, and the soft golden light gave us the dreamiest ending to the session. Between the downtown exploring, The Pink Figgy, new locations and all of the blooms at Hampton Park, Lia’s gallery had such a beautiful mix of classic Charleston charm and fresh, unexpected spots.
