Kennedy’s senior session in Charleston was one of those shoots that almost did not happen the way we originally planned…but ended up working out SO beautifully!!! Her session had to be rescheduled at the very last second because of thunderstorms, which meant Kennedy and her mom had to plan an entire second trip to Charleston for her portraits. They were both so flexible and gracious through the whole process, and I was so thankful we were able to find a new date that worked.
And when they came back!? Charleston gave them the BEST of the best!!! We had beautiful sunlight, tons of colorful flowers in bloom and even the most iconic skyline views. It felt like the city was making up for all of the weather chaos by showing off in every possible way. I always hate when weather forces us to pivot, especially for families traveling in from out of town, but this session was such a good reminder that sometimes the rescheduled date ends up being even better than the original plan.
Kennedy’s outfits were AMAZING and gave us such a great variety throughout her gallery. Every look felt stylish, polished and so fun to photograph, and I loved how each outfit paired with a different part of Charleston. Between the colorful florals, the glowing light, the classic downtown charm and those beautiful skyline views, her session had so much variety while still feeling cohesive and true to her style.
This shoot was such a sweet one because Kennedy and her mom had to go above and beyond to make it happen. Traveling to Charleston once for senior portraits is already such an honor…but coming back a second time after a thunderstorm reschedule!? I do not take that lightly! I am so grateful they trusted the process, stayed flexible and gave us the chance to create something really beautiful.
Kennedy: Thank you so much for being so patient and flexible when the weather did not cooperate the first time around! You and your mom were such a joy to work with, and I am so glad Charleston gave us such a gorgeous day when you came back. I hope you love scrolling through some of my favorites
